“went up trevs. bought new pen and easter gift for mum”

I’m not suggesting that Trev (obviously now safely out of hospital) had some kind of pen and easter gift warehouse.

The two sentences are probably unconnected.

But it does seem like I’d bought a pen recently?

Maybe I emptied the earlier one writing out all those bloody Don McLean lyrics?
