“Snowed. Had BCG Vaccination”

The BCG vaccination was for tuberculosis.

Oh, what glorious FUN having that vaccination would cause me some 25 years later when I would be forced to jump through American medical hoops to gain my Green Card.

Doctor:- “This skin test shows you have tuberculosis”

Me:- “Yes, I had a shot of it when I was a kid, so I will always test positive”

Doctor:- “Hmmnnnn, not sure we can let you in if you have tuberculosis”

Me:- “But I don’t. I was actually inoculated with a mild strain of it, so I will never get it”

Doctor:- “We need to send you for x-rays to make sure. Here’s a referral. The cost will be *ching ching* another $120”

Me:- “But, my records show that I……”

Doctor:- “Next!”
